I've been a Linux user since 1993.
But lately some pretty exciting stuff has been happening with Linux.
It is slowly making headway into the corporate environment and inching
its way to the desktop. One of the coolest things that has happened to
Linux is the evolution of its user interface. The GNOME and KDE projects have turned many heads, and are making Linux more
fun to use.
My most recent contribution to the world of Free Software has been a little mail utility called Tnefclean. It's essentially a mail filter which sanitizes and reformats email that has been sent using a certain Evil Software Empire's mangled and non-standard formats.
I helped author a little application for the Gnome desktop. It's called The Gnome Stock Ticker. It's a little applet for the Gnome panel that just scrolls a bunch of user-defined stock quotes. It's not much but it was fun to work on.
I also designed my own WindowMaker theme. It is based on Markus Kniebes' theme for Enlightenment called Cyrus. My version of this theme is called Cyrus-WM. I've made a screenshot available so you can check it out before you download it. It used to be one of the most popular themes on the net. But the world, it seems, has moved on. :)
I have modified my Netscape Application defaults so that it fits nicely with the GTK theme. Screenshots and Xdefaults code are available here.
I also did another WindowMaker theme based on the Chrome theme
for Enlightenment. The
original E theme is by Bluesman.
